Our "over-sized" screw-in base is still a better-retaining gate base due to its length, larger overall diameter and larger threads (more surface area and BETTER RETENTION). The FlexGates screw-in base has less taper, thus it "backs out" less and stays screwed in the snow better than other "screw" bases. The FlexGates Over-sized screw-in base still remains a better overall choice to work in all snow conditions, snow depths and is a very economical option.
